City of Easley Fire Department

The City of Easley Fire Department is a combination Fire Department with twenty-five full-time personnel, twenty-four volunteer personnel, four chaplains, ten explorers, and two support personnel. The Fire Department operates out of three stations, and an administrative office. The Department is responsible for proving fire protection for 105 square miles including the City of Easley, Easley Fire District, and the Croswell Fire District. Most of our full-time firemen work a 24 hour on and 48 hour off work schedule. All firefighting personnel are subject to call back 24-7. The Fire Department responds to structure fires, vehicle fires, brush fires, vehicle accidents with entrapment, hazardous materials spills, bomb threats, and public service calls. We also have the capability and training to first respond for EMS.

In Memorium: Fallen Heroes, NYC, September 11, 2001The Fire Department has a strong Fire Prevention Program in place for all elementary and preschool aged children. We also house the Pickens County Fire Chiefs Association Child Safety House that is used in all Easley area Schools, Church's, and Daycares upon request.

Each October, the Fire Department conducts fire prevention classes for school aged children during Fire Prevention Week.  The Department hosts an annual Open House at Station #2 located at 180 Glenwood Road. We also sponsor an annual Smoke Detector Campaign. Random neighborhoods are picked for the daily checks. Our Firefighters and Explorer Post personnel are out in uniform and will identify themselves before entering any residence. If a smoke detector or battery is needed, the Fire Department will provide them at no charge. This is available for CITY RESIDENTS ONLY. Smoke detectors are available at our Administrative office and Station # 1 located beside Wal-Mart for residents in our two Fire Districts. Per SC Law Section 5-25-1330 if you rent your residence the owner of the property is responsible for smoke detectors inside the residence. Remember to change batteries in all smoke detectors when you adjust your clocks for daylight savings time.

During the approaching holidays please use extreme caution while decorating your home. Always limit the use of drop cords when decorating. If you plan to use drop cords, do not overload them, and make sure that nothing is placed on top of the cord. This will limit abrasions on the cord and prevent sparking. When using a live Christmas tree always remember to place it in a safe place away from a heat source, and remember to water the tree daily to prevent drying out. No matter your age, always PRACTICE FIRE SAFETY AND A HOME EVACUATION DRILL.
