I. IntroductionA. Thank you Kent and The Easley Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to speak to you this afternoon.
B. Thank you Outback Steakhouse for once again hosting this event.
1. I would also like to congratulate Gary Durkee and his staff at Outback for being named the “2007 Easley Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year.”
C. Introduce City Council
D. Introduce County Councilwoman Jennifer Willis
E. Introduce City Administrator
F. Introduce Department Heads
G. These are the members of ‘Team Easley’
II. The Easley community is strongA. In 2007 the City issued over
1. 150 new home permits, and
2. 11 new commercial permits
3. Total value of all these permits was over $27,000,000
B. Financially, the City ended 2007 in as strong a position as it ever has;
C. In 2007 the following businesses either opened or expanded
1. Cooper River Grill
2. Golden Corral
3. Cornerstone bank expansion
4. Toyota of Easley
5. Foothills Child Center
6. Doodle Station
7. DunBurks
8. Youngblood Shopping Center; and
9. Wal-Greens
